for the Mercantile Esports Championship 2021

EVENT RULES

All players are expected to fully read, understand and agree to the Mercantile Esports Championship rules available at https://gamer.lk/rules. The rules for each game are linked below.

Please note the following general event rules that will be in place for this event.

 

1. Participation Criteria 

1.1. Only employees currently employed at any company or organisation or owns their own business or company.
1.2. – Players who do not have a valid document (from the list below) to prove their employment will not be able to take part. Past employees are not able to take part representing their former workplaces.

2. Accepted documents

2.1. – All participants are required to submit one or more of the following forms of identification to certify that you are a current employee/owner of the company you wish to represent.
2.2. – A ID Card issued by the Company (with details such as date of employment, designation included)
2.3. – Letter from Company, signed by a Director or Managing Director (Name of the Signatory and Company Seal should be clearly visible)
2.4. – Latest Salary Slip (including a Seal or some sort of certification)
2.5. – If you own your own business, you need to submit a copy of the Business Registration and any other official documents to prove that you own your company

3. Nationality

3.1. – The Championship is open only to applicants born in Sri Lanka or possess Sri Lankan citizenships.
3.2. – If you are not a Sri Lankan, to take part in this Championship, you need to have resided in Sri Lanka for a minimum period of 6 months (on a Residence Visa or a person studying in a Sri Lankan University or Institute or an employee of a Sri Lankan organisation under a valid permit or documentation). You are required to submit sufficient proof of residence when you are attending the Championship and expected to keep the same with you during the period of the tournament.

4. Representing multiple companies

No player is allowed to be a part of multiple companies (eg: representing Company X for Call of Duty 4 and Company Y for Dota 2). If a participant is found to be in breach of this rule, the player will be banned for a minimum period of one year. In the case of teams, all teams the player was a part of will be disqualified.

Who can take part in this?

DO YOU HAVE TO BE A CURRENT EMPLOYEE TO TAKE PART?

Yes. You need to be a current employee of the company you are representing. You should have a valid Company ID or some sort of identification to prove this. A list of acceptable documents can be found in this FAQ.

WE HAVE MUTLIPLE TEAMS WHO WANT TO PARTICIPATE. WHAT DO WE DO?

There are no restrictions placed and any number of teams can represent a company.

CAN EMPLOYEES FROM MULTIPLE BRANCHES FROM THE SAME COMPANY COMBINE TO FORM A TEAM?

Yes that is allowed.

WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS THAT NEED TO BE SUBMITTED DURING REGISTRATION AND WILL BE USED FOR VERIFICATION?

Warning: Providing forged or amended documents is a breach of the Tournament Rules and will result in severe penalties including but not limited to the immediate disqualification of the player and his/her team from the tournament, bans from all future Gamer.LK tournaments and additional penalties depending on the severity of the offence.

MY COMPANY DOESN’T ISSUE A COMPANY ID OR MY COMPANY ID IS LOST. WHAT DO I DO?

You will need some sort of identification document certifying that you are an employee/own the company you wish to represent. The list of documents accepted can be found above. For clarifications or questions, please contact support on the InGame Esports platform.

CAN ONE PLAYER TAKE PART IN MULTIPLE GAMES?

Yes, there are no limitations on that.
